Dr. Ria Coutras achieved her dental degree with honors from McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) in 2003. An active leader in student government she was Social Representative and organized the first “White Coat Ceremony”. Dr. Coutras moved to South Florida where she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Coutras has special training in restoring dental implants including implant supported over-dentures and cosmetic implants. Many of her patients’ beautiful smiles have been showcased at seminars for her dental colleagues. In addition, she has lectured on topics such as cosmetic implant restorations. Dr. Coutras is fluent in Greek, Spanish, French and English.
Dr. Jared Helfant who is originally from New York City, moved to Boca Raton, Fl, where he went on to graduate from Olympic Heights Community High School. Dr. Helfant continued his education at the University of Florida, ultimately graduating suma cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in health science. From there he returned to New York City to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery at New York University’s College of Dentistry. During his stay at NYU he had the opportunity to gain experience rotating between several of New York City’s top hospitals. Dr. Helfant has special training in cosmetic and family practice and offers the latest in dental technologies to his patients. He is a member in fine standing with professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association and the Broward County Dental Association.
Dr. Jennifer Sorroza earned her pre-doctoral dental degree in 1999 from Universidad de Guayaquil, Ecuador. After working as a General Dentist in Ecuador she spent a year at the New York University College of Dentistry as a Resident in the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Prosthodontics. Her clinical experience includes surgical extractions, clinical crown lengthening surgeries, fixed and removable prosthodontics, basic restorative work and placement and restoration of implants. After NYU, Dr. Sorroza continued her education in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine between 2002-2005. Her Post Doctoral Residency included programs in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, Special Needs Dentistry, Patients with Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities, Alzheimer’s Disease and Geriatrics and Implant Certification 3I. Dr. Sorroza stays up to date by attending continuing education courses and is an active member of the American Dental Association, The Florida Dental Association and The Atlantic Coast District Dental Association. Dr. Sorroza also enjoys spending time with her family, and friends, rollerblading, going to the park with her two kids, and traveling. Dr. Sorroza is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Dr. Henry Jacobsohn believes that “the pursuit of knowledge and techniques in dentistry are ever-evolving and that the joy of creating a healthy smile is everlasting.” After attending the Hebrew Academy of Greater Miami, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Miami. He is a proud Hurricane Alumnus! He then earned his Doctorate Degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. After receiving his degree, he returned to his hometown, South Florida, where he continues his many years in private practice creating beautiful, healthy smiles. His patients love his relaxed, patient demeanor and always feel that he gives his utmost dedication and attention to every unique smile he creates. Dr. Jacobsohn brings a vast knowledge to many aspects of dentistry. His skill and passion to the dental field make him a great asset to our TLC Dental team. His other passion is his family, which includes his wife, Susie, and their three beloved children. Life outside of dentistry includes golf, woodworking and a healthy lifestyle of exercising.
Dr. Rostock, raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was born to be a dentist. An artist at heart with a passion for science has led her to a career in dentistry creating beautiful, healthy smiles. She’s a graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School, Class of 2000. Following a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency, Dr. Rostock spent 2 years as a general dentist in the US Army caring for our brave troops in the states and overseas. She’s been practicing dentistry in South Florida for the last 12 years, where she finds joy in educating her patients & restoring confidence in the beauty of their smiles. Dr. Rostock & her husband, Scott, enjoy watching their son play travel baseball and daughter perform dance & gymnastics. In her free time, you can find her enjoying the Florida sunshine at the beach or pool with family & friends.
Dr. Morales earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree (D.M.D.) back in 1993 at Temple University School of Dentistry. The well-being of his patients is his number one priority! Needless to say, Dr. Morales has numerous years of experience, which also includes working as an experienced laboratory technician in his younger years. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is soft-spoken and easy-going, which puts his patients at ease. He loves to enjoy all that South Florida has to offer, especially the outdoors. Being a huge advocate for wildlife conservation, he firmly believes in protecting wild plant and animal species and their habitats.
Dr. Cicortas was born and grew up in Romania, and emigrated to sunny South Florida in 1998. While completing his pre-doctoral education at Nova Southeastern University, he dedicated a large portion of his time to medical research and community service. It was this meeting of the mind and of the heart that led to his pursuit of dentistry. He was part of the inaugural class of the Lake Erie College of Medicine, Dental School in Bradenton, FL, where he received training in the latest techniques with state-of-the-art equipment.
He then refined and mastered his skills in Cosmetic Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, and Oral Surgery at the LECOM Outreach Clinic in Erie, Pennsylvania where he provided care for the underserved community for one year. After practicing in Lake Worth FL, Dr. Cicortas is excited to be back in his hometown of Hollywood. Dr. Cicortas’ goal is to provide exceptional dentistry to his patients, in a caring and comfortable environment.
When out of the office, Dr. Cicortas enjoys mountain biking, kayaking and spear fishing. His evenings are often spent playing cello – violin duets with his wife Cristina, and walking the Hollywood Beach boardwalk with their son.
Dr. Lisset Arenas, originally from Peru, came to South Florida in 2000. Her passion for dentistry started when she was a teenager after realizing the huge impact that oral health can have in people’s lives. She was the first in her family to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. During her four years of dental school, Dr. Arenas was very involved in volunteerism and community service and overlooked a dental clinic organized by the Department of Health of Alachua County, which provided dental care to the low-income population of the county.
After graduation, Dr. Arenas was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Xi Omicron chapter, a national dental honor society, whose mission is to promote the highest standards of dentistry. She also completed an AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency at the Miami Veterans Hospital.
She understands each patient’s smile and personality is unique and that is why it is her priority to make them feel relaxed and confident in the decision to enhance their beautiful, healthy smile.
When Dr. Arenas is not practicing dentistry, she loves to spend time with her husband and their two “four-legged fur babies,” Jerry and Cornelius and enjoys photography and scrapbooking.
Dr. Thais Rosales, originally from Brazil, realized at a very young age how impactful she could be on the lives of those around her by helping them achieve a healthy smile. Oral health awareness and prevention are her primary focus. Her goal is to provide gentle and compassionate care to fit each patient’s individual needs.
She is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she was taught by world-class clinicians using the latest technologies to ensure optimal patient oral health, function, and esthetics. During her time at Tufts, she gained experience by being active in the community and volunteering her time at Red Logan Clinic in Vermont, where she provided care for the underserved community.
She was awarded an Honors Civicus Recognition award for exceptional community service and civic engagement. She is now active in the South Florida community and participates in many continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on advancements.
When out of the office, Dr. Rosales can be found at the beach or traveling. She enjoys visiting new places and loves meeting new people, including her patients!
Dr. Marcel Gegati attended medical school in Paris, France. Shortly after, he traveled extensively throughout Europe, where he acquired the knowledge to speak five languages fluently. He then moved to Montreal, Canada, where he attended dental school at the University of Montreal. After graduating in 1983, he started his own dental practice in Montreal. In 2004, he and his family moved to South Florida, where he continued his career in dentistry.
Dr. Gegati has obtained advanced training in: Cosmetic Reconstruction, Implant Supported Restorations, Sleep Dentistry, Analgesia Sedation, Pediatric Dentistry, Rotary Endodontics, Periodontal Soft Tissue Management and Laser Surgery. He exemplifies a real understanding and love for his profession, and has remained committed in fulfilling his patients' oral health needs.
